The first production Sea Ski model has some absolutely unique and outstanding performance features that will ‘wow’ not only long-time boat owners, but newcomers who are finding it difficult to choose between one make or another. It is a boat that makes desires a reality.
The Sea Ski design was born out of a wish to make the bow waves of large vessels less daunting and intimidating for small boats, but it succeeded far beyond the original intentions to become a world-changing design for small vessels.
Today we have a 7m (23ft) boat that even defies ocean waves at speeds that would be dangerous and very uncomfortable for normal boats to attempt.
This radical design, though, has accomplished far more than merely ‘subduing’ waves; it has also greatly extended the speed capabilities of small vessels, generally by 50% or more!
And the list does not stop there.
Fuel economy is paramount to boat buyers’ considerations and the Sea Ski answers that need by converting speed to economy (see our featured story Can a boat save fuel travelling at very high speeds?).
While these are all very laudable developments, our abiding concern is for the safety of our customers.
We see our biggest market being the family unit and our desire is to ensure everybody returns home safely from their outings, so we decided to add positive buoyancy to our vessels to meet the unlikely catastrophes of swamping or capsizing, or sinking through collision.
We know this is prudent thinking, even if costly, because a safe and happy customer is, without doubt, our greatest marketing friend.
The vessel is engineered in accordance with Lloyds Special Service Craft Rules for offshore operations (commercial), a design also considered acceptable based on CE (ISO) requirements.
